The 2010
Midwest Vizsla Shooting Dog Championship (MVSDC) will be held on September
29th - October 1st, at the Ionia Field Trial Grounds, Ionia, MI, followed by
the companion Gary Jagoda Derby Classic. This year marks the 13th running of
the event. For those not familiar with the MVSDC, it is a one-hour,
Vizsla-only American Field Championship held on one of the premier field trial
grounds in the upper midwest. Once again, we have two experienced and
well-respected gentlemen sitting in the judging saddle: John Hall, our
returning judge from last year, who hails from Dexter, MI, and runs Brittanys,
and William Klenner, who lives in Belleville, MI, and trials American Field
Pointers.
As usual,
plaques and prizes will be given to all Winners in both the Championship &
Derby Classic. I'd also like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors,
Nestle-Purina and Tri-tronics, in advance of the event for their continued
support. Entry fees for this year's Championship & Derby Classic continue to
be the most reasonable of any Vizsla Championship and are as follows:
Championship
- $100
Derby Classic
- $50.
For those out East who are heading west to the
VCA Nationals, I would encourage you to make a small detour and come run in
this event on your way to Ft. Robinson. For those in the midwest, there's
still plenty of time to get to Ft. Robinson after the conclusion of this
event. And for those who have decided not to make the long trek out West this
year, come for the MVSDC and then stay for the Vizsla Club of Michigan's Fall
Field Trial on the weekend following the MVSDC.
If
you're interested in entering the MVSDC and/or the Gary Jagoda Derby Classic,
or who would like additional information about the event, please contact me by
email or phone at (269) 832-2557, or my Co-Chairman, Barry Peterson, at (989)
295-3870. Entries can be made in person up until the drawing, which will be
held on Tuesday, September 28, 2010, at 6:00 p.m. in the Ionia FT Grounds
Clubhouse. The running will begin on September 29th at 8:00 a.m. I hope to
see some of you there!
